Rojava

Regional Hub

Rojava

Rojava, officially the Autonomous Administration of North and East Syria (AANES), covers approximately 50,000 km² in northeastern Syria. The region has established new educational institutions since 2012 despite the ongoing Syrian conflict. Turning introductions into real support, collaboration, and opportunity.

Rojava — Western Kurdistan

The University of Rojava was established in Qamishlo in 2014 as the first university in the AANES territory. It offers faculties including Medicine, Law, Agriculture, and Education. Additional institutions include Amed University in Amuda and the Euphrates Institute in Kobani.

Academic infrastructure was significantly damaged during the Syrian civil war. The AANES education system promotes trilingual instruction in Kurdish (Kurmanci), Arabic, and Syriac at primary and secondary levels. Higher education capacity continues to expand with international support.

Students from Rojava face significant barriers to international study including travel restrictions, document recognition challenges, and limited internet infrastructure. This platform aims to bridge those gaps through mentorship and information sharing.
